ONLINE SAFETY AFTERNOON
Dear Parents and Carers,
I am delighted to announce:
Online Safety Information Afternoon with Traci Good
Wednesday 31st January 2pm in the school hall
Please remember that the majority of children and young people use the internet responsibly and will not come to any harm.
However, as parents and carers we need to be aware of the risks they face so we know what to look out for and feel equipped enough to support them if they need it.
We have invited Traci Good, who specialises in online safety to come into school and talk to parents about the amazing opportunities that the internet has to offer our children and also a look at some of the risks that our children face and how to deal with them when they happen.
Traci says “Firstly, and most importantly this isn’t a session to tell you how to parent your children! My experience tells me that our children are gaming against others, accessing inappropriate content and having ownership of devices from an earlier age than ever before. As parents and carers we need to understand some of the risks they face and how we can support them, and where we can get help ourselves if we need it
Children are making and sharing their own content online from reception class to year 6, and if they are not doing it at home, they may be doing it at a friend’s house so we need to be prepared. I can almost promise that you will learn something new so please come along, it will be great to meet you”
I look forward to seeing you all next Wednesday.
Entry is free and everyone who comes to listen will be entered in a free prize draw
£10 TESCO Voucher and Thornton’s Chocolates
