We are delighted to inform you that we are now running a Film Club at Chaucer Junior School.

This is a fantastic opportunity for children to socialise with their friends and experience a variety of films in a safe, structured setting.

Our current Year 3s have already enjoyed a term of Film Club, which has been a great success.

They have been watching;

  • My Neighbour Totoro (animation)
  • Greyfriars Bobby (old true story)
  • E.T. (sci-fi)

Their grand finale will be The Gruffalo Live on DVD (stageshow).

Keep your ear to the ground for more information on which films and year groups will be coming soon!

Here are some reviews;

My Neighbour Totoro by Amelia Faulks

I loved it, would definitely recommend it to my friends. It was a cartoon. It was really good. The best thing was when he made the trees grow.

Greyfriars Bobby by Korben Mottram

This film is about a dog called Bobby, who belonged to a shepherd and when he dies of pneumonia the dog remains faithful to his master. He takes to sleeping on his master's grave in Greyfriars Churchyard.

As time goes on and he refuses to move, he becomes a symbol of hope for the people of Edinburgh/Scotland.

I thought this film was very emotional but very funny at times. The little dog gave hope to the citizens of Edinburgh. I will rate this movie 4 out of 5*. This film is suitable for 7 year olds and above.
