School Games Championship

Chaucer's highest ever position in the Derbyshire School Sports Championships!

Due to some fantastic sporting performances in the last school year, Chaucer has achieved its highest ever position in the Derbyshire School Sports Championships.

Thanks to reaching the 2013/14 County Finals for Mini Tennis, Girls' Cricket and Sportshall Athletics and producing creditable results at them, the school was able to gain 12 championship points. This total places Chaucer 21st best in the whole of Derbyshire (approx 350 schools) and 2nd in Erewash!

The result represents a significant improvement upon previous years. In 2012-13 Chaucer earnt 6 points, which meant 43rd in Derbyshire and 6th in Erewash, and although DSSA documentation is unavailable, it is believed Chaucer scored 8 points in 2011-12. (Chaucer's Sporting Roll of Honour is available here.

Congratulations to Kirk Hallam Community Technology and Sports College, which came top of the Secondary School Championship table for Derbyshire (out of 60 schools) after they reached 16 County Finals.
