Dance Festival 2016
Local schools came together to share their love and freedom of dance.
This year the festival was held at Friesland School, Sandiacre. The event had been organised by Erewash School Sports Partnership
It brings local schools together so the children can show their love and freedom of dance. Ten schools took part in this year's festival: Friesland School, Firfield Primary School, Ladywood Primary School, Ashbrook Junior School, Ladycross Infant School, Shardlow Primary School, Stanley St Andrews, Chaucer Junior School, Cotmanhay Junior School and Scargill Primary School.
Some children from Year 4 represented our school, and their dance was linked to their topic 'Road Trip USA'. For this topic the children had immersed themselves in American history. They had planned a road trip across the USA, written post cards and holiday brochures.Their dance was a mash up of American Pie, Born In The USA, Hotel California, Surfing USA and New York, New York
All the children were brilliant, and they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. At the end of the event all the schools were given the chance to get up and dance together as one to Silento 'Watch Me'. It was the perfect end to another great festival!
