Central Region Winners
So happy to win the Central Region prize in the 'Grow Your Own Potatoes' National Competition
It was Presentation Day today at Chaucer Junior School for winning the Central Region prize in the Grow Your Own Potatoes National Competition. We had the heaviest weight in our growing bag of 'Luciole' Potatoes for our Region of 1500g. We were delighted that Sue Lawson and Rachel Carpenter from Grow Your Own Potatoes came to present our prize of a 'Marmax Products Ltd' multi coloured picnic bench. It is made from recycled bottles, and the children love it. It also displays a plaque, a nice reminder of our win!
It was also lovely to welcome Caroline Pollard from Erewash Borough Council to the presentation, and Lucy from Branston Potatoes. They are the company who provided the seed Potatoes for our region in the competition. We were also lucky enough to welcome back Rob Smith ( BBC's Big Allotment Challenge Winner) to Chaucer. He helped us harvest the 'Luciole' Potatoes back in June
It was a wonderful morning celebrating our win in the Chaucer Garden
