RHS Chelsea 2016

We had a brilliant time on the Miracle Gro'wers Stand in the Great Pavilion

We cannot believe that this was our fourth year at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London. The Miracle Gro'wers Stand is sponsored by Miracle Gro, and it is they who design the garden at RHS Chelsea. The theme was '5 A Day', and the garden looked fantastic! It was lovely to meet with John, Jane and Vicky again from Miracle Gro. We were also thrilled that our local MP Maggie Throup came to visit us on the stand and spend some time with us, she loved the garden

Peter and Madeline did a brilliant job on the stand, talking to the public and showing them our photo book explaining our experiments. The Miracle Gro'wers Stand won a RHS Silver Gilt Flora, which we are very proud to be part of

When we had finished on the stand we said goodbye to everyone, we went and had a look around the rest of the amazing show. As we were looking around we managed to get a chance to have a photo with tv presenters and gardeners Andy McIndoe, Toby Buckland and Rachel de Thame

I had also arranged for us to meet Rosemary Hardy of Hardy's Nurseries. Although Hardy's Plants have had a stand in the Great Pavilion for many years, and also winning as many Gold medals for their efforts, this was Rosy's first ever show garden on Main Avenue. It was called 'Forever Freefolk', and it invited visitors to consider the fragility of our rare and beautiful chalk streams - a vital natural resource threatened by pollution and climate change. Just 200 chalk streams exist in the world, most of which are in England. It was so lovely to get the chance to meet Rosy, and for her to take the time to explain her idea behind the garden to us

Our day at Chelsea was brilliant, and I hope it's day Peter and Madeline will always remember. Thank you to Mrs Upton for coming along with us. Also a big thank you to Rachel Carter for making our wonderful bumble bees that were displayed on the stand. Finally a BIG thank you to Miracle Gro for letting us be present at the show and giving the children the chance to experience being at the world's greatest flower show!
