Making Our Pallet Planters

Thank you to Ormiston Ilkeston Enterprise Academy for coming to help us

We had a great afternoon working alongside staff and pupils from Ormiston Ilkeston Enterprise Academy. They very kindly agreed to come and help us make some strawberry planters for our school garden

The children from Chaucer really enjoyed learning some new DT skills from Mrs Johnson and Mr Kearton from Ormiston. Would you believe we managed to make four lovely planters for our garden from just five pallets. When we had finished building them we placed a beautiful plaque on each one, which had been shaped, engraved and varnished by some pupils at Ormiston

As our strawberries are already growing elsewhere for this year, we are going to see if we can grow some pumpkins for Halloween. We'll see how they go.

I would like to thank Mrs Johnson for supplying all tools and materials for our project. I really hope we get the chance to work with Ormiston again in the future. The children loved it!
