Planting At West Park For Chelsea

A group of Year 4 children have had the opportunity of planting seeds for Chelsea Flower Show this week at West Park Nurseries

Thanks to the help of West Park Nurseries we were able to plant lots of seeds for the Chelsea Flower Show competition. I would love nothing more than to get our lovely school to represent our Borough in probably the best gardening show in the world! The theme being 'Dig For Victory' it means growing plants and vegetables of the 1940s, so the children loved planting seeds such as Love In A Mist, Nasturtium, Poppies and Poached Egg Plant. Also in vegetables they planted peas, beetroot and more Homeguard potatoes. The show is in its Centenary year so it would be something special if we could get there this year!
