Bulb Planting At Park Cemetery
On a beautiful November morning some of the Gardening Club walked to Park Cemetery to plant some spring bulbs
We were delighted when 'The Friends Of Park Cemetery' asked us again if we would like to plant some spring bulbs at the cemetery. It was a glorious November morning with the sun shining down on us, and the children were ready to plant lots of bulbs. We were joined there by Paul Miller a member of the Friends of the cemetery and Larklands school who were also there to plant some bulbs. They were kindly donated by Erewash Borough Council and the Pride In Erewash campaign led by Richard Windsor. Two of the ground workers had kindly dug the divots out to help the children and save on time, they had great fun stomping on them to replace them when they had filled each one with some bulbs! We will return in the Spring to see how pretty they look.
I think it is great for the children to be involved in community planting and learning to take a pride in the town they live in, and especially making such a special place to many look cared for and looked after and helping 'the Friends Of Park Cemetery' who already do such a great job! We had some bulbs spare so we bought them back to school to plant
