Home Learning W/C 20.4.20

This week, you will see the return of scheduled activities as part of the school day (or the school day as we know it for now!) Please read the blog for details.

Year 3 expectations for Home Learning

During a typical day we endeavour to try and ensure the children are in a routine. This is helped by scheduling activities and setting age appropriate work. These activities can vary from 20mins to some taking an hour or more (collecting resources, working with family members, producing a final piece…) All the activities are scheduled each day on Seesaw. Obviously they don't need to be completed as soon as they appear, but we would like to see all of you doing your best to complete them at some point throughout the day.

Furthermore a ‘menu’ of ideas are on the Year 3 blog that are possibilities for additional activities, if you wish to do more than the daily activities set. You can find them on this previous post:

A Typical Day

9am : Physical activity for body and mind (approx. 20-30mins). The post on Seesaw provides a choice of ideas so that you don’t have to just do Joe Wicks every day (unless, of course, you want to!)

9:30am : Maths - Mondays will be TTRS/Times tables-based. Tues-Thurs will be a video lesson recorded by Mr Smith that will go over prior learning in school. Fri will be a more ‘practical’ lesson wherever possible.

10:45am : English – these activities will vary between reading, grammar, spelling and writing activities.

1pm : An afternoon activity based around a weekly theme. This week it is ‘My Local Area.’

Stay safe and we look forward to seeing and hearing from you.

Mr Smith, Miss Richards and the Y3 team.
