New Home Learning Format

As school opens up to more children, the home learning format will be changing.

HOME LEARNING GOING FORWARD

Firstly, we would like to thank you for your ongoing commitment towards home learning over the past few weeks; we are incredibly proud of how we (as a school community) have adapted in these unprecedented times. However, going forward, home learning will be changing as staff will be spending more time in school and therefore will be unable to be as active as they have been. From this week, there will continue to be just one activity posted daily (at 9am) for children to try and complete. If you feel like your child needs more, then we have provided a list of great resources which we recommend as a school to support your children as we continue during the remote learning period.

BBC Bitesize

Ideal for KS2 children to learn age-appropriate topics.

TTRockstars

Chance for children to practise their times tables.

Spelling Shed

White Rose Maths

Free maths resources for KS1 and KS2

Top Marks

Resources to support all areas of the curriculum

Twinkl

Resources made free using code: UKTWINKLHELPS

We are committed to children staying active during this time too. We’re sure you all have different ways but here are just a few ideas that may be useful, all of which can be found on Youtube:

  • PE with Joe – daily classes at 9am but can be accessed later via his YouTube page.
  • Oti Mabuse Dance Kids – daily dance classes
  • Cosmic Kids Yoga

You could also search for ‘Robin Hood MAT’ which has some great ideas for all curriculum areas too, broken up into different weeks. Weeks 1-7 may look familiar!

Even though we may not be as active on seesaw, we would still love to see all your fantastic work so please continue to post all your efforts or ANYTHING you have been up to J

The daily activities that we are going to be setting will look like this:

Monday – Spellings - including test (this has moved to a day when both Mr Smith and Miss Richards are not in school to be able to do the test with their classes)

Tuesday – Comprehension

Wednesday – Maths

Thursday – Maths

Friday – TTRS (We want to keep up the times tables work to give children the best chance on their Y4 times tables test next year)

Please get in touch if we can help with anything and once again, thanks for your support.

Mr Smith and Miss Richards
