Year 4 children have had a great start to the new school year. They are enjoying out topic, 'What lies beyond the Blue Abyss?' They have already designed our own fish in the style of the famous artist J.Vincent Scarpace, made sequin fish out of clay and written their very own personification sea creature poems.

The children and staff are looking forward to visiting The Deep in Hull. The Deep is home to a multitude of different sea creatures. Previous year groups have loved this trip and they have been amazed by the various species of fish, jellyfish, penguins, sharks and the glass elevator at The Deep. We have lots to look forward to! Watch this space and Twitter for photos of our forthcoming trip.

Below is the current homework project grid for our Blue Abyss topic. Miss Porter and Miss Mee are very much looking forward to seeing all of the creative projects we know the children are working hard on already. Projects are due from 16th December 2019. Good luck!

Design a poster advertising The Deep. Think about the trip you went on and everything you experienced whilst you were there.

Create a 3D model of a sea creature and its habitat.

Design a water themed word search. Using words like evaporation, rainfall, meander, waves etc…

Write a story about an animal that lives in the sea, a lake or a river.
