Bake Off Results

The overall winner was Lacey Driver with her out of this world daffodil creation

On the 23rd March we held our 3rd Bake Off and once again we were amazed at the creative entries that everyone produced! This year we had 89 entries which beat last year's number. Mrs Briggs and Miss Mee were very pleased that 3MB won the prize for the most class entries, 22 of them entered which is amazing!!!
Well done to everyone who took part. Every year the judges say how impressed they are with the high standard of entries and this year was no different, we saw lots of new and original ideas, you are obviously all very imaginative!! The judges would have loved to have awarded lots of prizes as there were so many fantastic cakes that they were choosing between but they had to narrow it down to the final winners!
The overall winner was Lacey Driver with her out of this world daffodil creation!! Sarah, who owns Creative Occasions cake shop  in Ilkeston was very impressed by this entry and said she had never seen anything like it before. The two runners up were Ewan Buda and Emily Hopkins and again both judges said they loved the ideas behind their cup cakes especially the spring themes.
The judges also chose four children to award for their hard work and effort these were Daniel Ward, Sophie Holmes, Logan O'Connor and Daniel Littlewood.
Both the judges said that it was clear that all the children had worked very hard and had put a lot of effort into their cakes.
The judges then had the difficult task of judging the staff's Brownies. They had to taste them to find the best one.  It didn't take them long to find a winner and they were unanimous in their decision, they both chose Mrs Faulks. They said that her brownies tasted lovely, really chocolatey and also had a perfect texture. Runners up were Mr Higgins and Mrs Watson.
In the afternoon there was further excitement as both overall winner's entries were to be taken up to the Easter Market to take part in a Grand Final between 5 other schools. The other schools were Charlotte, Kensington, Cotmanhay Infants, Ladywood and Granby. We were represented by Lacey Driver and Mrs Faulks. The Mayor and a Councillor judged all the winners and after a lot of thought decided that Granby school were the winners of the decorated cup cakes and Kensington the winners of the staff Brownies.
Once again thank you to everyone who took part!
