Chelsea Planting @ West Park

Planting has begun at West Park Nurseries for our quest to get to Chelsea Flower Show this year

Mrs Upton and I had the pleasure of taking a group of Year 4 children to plant at West Park Nurseries this week in our quest for us to appear at Chelsea Flower Show, arguably the greatest gardening show in the world! It was a wonderful insight into where all our flowers in the Borough are grown. The children planted lots of seeds of 1940s flowers and also more Homeguard potatoes for our competition entry. Lets hope they grow well for the end of April when we have to send our entry in, wish us luck! The children were a credit to our school. I would like to thank John Housechild the Nursery Manager for helping us and letting us store our plants there. I would also like to thank Richard Windsor and Erewash Borough Council for their support of our school too.  Mrs Wheatley
