Our Governors
A Message from our Chair of Governors:
As a joint Governing Body, we are dedicated to ensuring that the pupils at Chaucer Junior and Chaucer Infant Schools receive the best education possible. We are committed to continually improve the teaching and learning experience of our children, to ensure the pupils receive a broad, balanced, creative curriculum. We strive to create an environment where pupils can access a wide variety of opportunities to help them achieve their full potential.
Mr Jason Smith,
Chair of Governors
What do the governors do?
Governors offer strategic guidance, rather than getting involved in the operational aspects of a school. This involves the following:
- Working with leaders to plan the school's strategic direction.
- Overseeing the school's financial performance, ensuring money is well-spent.
- Holding the headteacher and leadership team to account.
- Challenging existing processes to drive school improvement.
- There are governors appointed to specifically monitor Safeguarding and SEND.
How often do the governors meet?
Chaucer Junior and Infant Schools' joint governing body meet once every half term.
