Forest Schools, February 11th

We manifested for dry weather at forest schools but got half dry then wet, so we had to work as a team to set up an emergency shelter. After our mindful moment the children were shown how to use the flint and steel to light a fire. As pancake day is February 17th we decided to mix up pancake batter to cook pancakes on the fire. Despite the weather and sticking pancakes we persevered, toppings in our forest kitchen were, lemon, sugar, maple syrup or jam. We discussed being inventive with low budget days out. We also made mud paint to create some artwork. The children played in the mud puddle, some more than others and enjoyed a game of 'What time is it Mr Wolf?' organised by the children which was great to see, with their 'can do' attitude. Big thanks to Mrs Wheatley for her positivity at all times.
