Forest Schools, April 23rd
We welcomed a new member who turned out to be a bit of a Bear Grylls and fitted in so well in forest schools. We had a generous squirrel aka Mrs Bonnington, but if you took too much of her food you needed to watch out. The children frantically collected the squirrel food. We learnt how to tie a bowline knot so we could make a rope swing. The children took it in turns to swing from the trees having a fabulous time. Muddy handprints and faces were made on the trees, some children, muddier than others. Hammocks were up. Later we split into two teams and created a treasure hunt for the other team, each team had to discretely hide clues and then follow the other teams trail, working as a team was a key skill and both teams were wonderful.
Our final game was a request, crocodile waters, great enthusiasm, evading tactics and showing good sporting behaviour. The sun was shining, blossoms were out and we all appreciated (this terms core value) being outside in a green space.
