Queen's Green Canopy, Platinum Jubilee Tree Planting
A very special afternoon at Chaucer Junior School, we planted a 'Yoshino' flowering, ornamental cherry tree for the #QueensGreenCanopy and in celebration of her upcoming #PlatinumJubilee A poem which had been written by my husband Derek was beautifully read out by three pupils and was heard by their families. Thank you so much to our local MP Maggie Throup for coming along to help plant our tree for us, along with the head of Embark Academy Matthew Crawford. Thank you to Miss Mee for all her help too. Thank you also to two of our school governors Wendy Disley and Cllr. James Dawson with union flag for attending. I would like to say a BIG thank you to Shipley Garden Centre for kindly donating the tree to us. And lastly but very much not least a big thank you to my gardening friend Gardener Steve for all his expert help and advice, again!
The tree will also be going on the Queen's Green Canopy Virtual Map website.
