We take part in this national competition each year and it is always lots of fun.

We get sent two potato grow bags and two varieties of potatoes. This year we have Casablanca and Piccolo Star. We have already sown them in the bags, then we will care for them until mid June when we will harvest, wash, count and weigh them. You can win various prizes for the heaviest weight in the bags. We also do a bottle experiment 'Beneath The Soil' so we can see how the roots grow over the weeks. It is always lots of fun seeing how many we have grown in the bags, it's like magic!
