Our School Day
What does a day look like?
Start of the day
Our school gates are open between 8:40 and 8:50am and we ask that children arrive between those times. All children enter through the top gate and members from our pastoral team will always be available outside should you need them. Our school day starts officially at 8:50am and any children who arrive after 8:55am will be marked as late. After the register closes at 9:05am, children who arrive will be marked as having had an unauthorised absence.
Morning lessons
Generally, children learn about Core Subjects in the morning, this includes the following:
- Reading
- Writing
- Maths
- Spelling
- Grammar
- Phonics (where appropriate)
Break
Break is at 10:30am and finishes at 10:45am. Children are allowed to eat healthy snacks at this time. These may include fruit, vegetables, rice cakes or breadsticks. Crisps, chocolate, biscuits and popcorn are not permitted.

On most days, lunchtime games are provided and supervised by our dinner staff and there is a nurture group for children who find it difficult to eat in the hall with the rest of the school or play on the playground without additional adult support.
Afternoon lessons
After lunch, children learn about the foundation subjects such as History, Art & Design, PE and Computing. For a full list and further information about our foundation curriculum please use the following link:
End of the day
The school day ends at 3:20pm. Lower School children can be collected from the playground at the end of the drive and Upper School children leave through the top gate. Staff are always available at the end of the day and any children who have not been collected (unless arrangements have been made for them to walk home alone) will be taken to the school office to wait.
