How do I apply for my child to attend Chaucer Junior School?
Our Local Authority, Derbyshire County Council, co-ordinates the admissions to all Derbyshire Primary, Infant and Junior Schools. Essentially, handle all admissions and enable parents and carers to express a preference for one, two or three schools, which can be ranked in order.
Parents and carers looking to apply to send their child to us when they begin Year 3 must make their application via Derbyshire County Council and can use this link to do so. Applications to start in Year 3 usually open in early November and the deadline is usually mid-January but late applications can be made using the same link.
If your child is in a year group other than Year 3 or you want to transfer them to our school part-way through the academic year, then an application for an in-year transfer will need to be made to admissions via this link. If we are oversubscribed in the relevant year group, you can make an appeal. This applies for children within catchment or further afield.
