Poppies At The Cenotaph
This morning myself and a couple of our talented Art Ambassadors went to the Cenotaph to meet Barry and Graham from The Royal British Legion - Ilkeston Branch. We went to take some decorated poppies that had been made by the Art Ambassadors with the help of Miss Mee to prepare the Cenotaph ready for Remembrance Day. Our local legion had asked for local groups and schools to help with this community project, and of course we said yes straight away. Our Cenotaph is such an important part of our town and should be respected in every way. Getting the children involved is always very important to me and hopefully gives them the same pride to also look after it, whilst also remembering all those that sacrificed everything for us. You'll see the local contributions growing over the coming days and we hope you all like what the children have contributed to their town. So proud of them both today.
