Forest Schools, Miss Tyer's Class
What a wonderful, sunny afternoon outside with Mammoths class for Forest Schools. Their enthusiasm for the outdoors was brilliant, they chased, laughed and acted out bears, salmon and mosquitoes in our first game. Throughout the afternoon, the children cooperated in team building rope challenges, braved the rope challenge and learnt a yoga flow. Miss Evans had a group creating art insects out of foraged materials which were very impressive. Mrs Wheatley ran the forest cafe along with some children. We enjoyed some lovely cool juice and some of the Grow Your Own Potatoes which we harvested yesterday from the school garden and was very kindly cooked for us by Mrs Ward in the school kitchen, thank you. They were enjoyed with mayo, ketchup and some mint sauce.
Finally the children had the water race challenge, please see photos for an explanation as to why your child came out of school wet. Obviously I hadn't anticipated such enthusiasm for this game. Big thank you to our Year 6 helper and Mrs Topley for their participation.
